Oliver) Doherty ofBrooksby Village, Peabody a former 79 year resident of Revere, passed awayfollowing a long illness on Thursday, March 14 at Phillips Manor Nursing Homeof Lynn. Born, raised and educated inRevere Schools, she was a 1942 graduate of Revere High School. She lived inRevere for 79 years before moving to Brooksby Village, Peabody in 2004. Most of her life she wasblessed with an intrinsic ability as a master seamstress and fashion designer.All of her family, extended family and associates saw Marie as the go-to personwhen in need of a minor alteration up to and including a total wedding ensemble.Her designs were authentic and detail perfect. Many of her nieces and nephewsenjoy relating stories of a special party, a wedding, a first holy communioncelebration, etc. with Auntie Marie’s part in the event. For many years, Marie was a member of the RevereWomen’s Club. She was the beloved wife ofthe late, Revere Firefighter, John J. “Chickie” Doherty, Sr. who passed in2004. She was the cherished mother of John J. Doherty, Jr. and his wife, Dianeof Tarpon Springs, Florida, Donna M. Marotta and her husband, Alfred J., ofSaugus, Doreen P. Carolan of Revere and the late Revere Fire Chief, Daniel J.Doherty and his surviving wife, Marjorie A. Doherty of Danvers. She was thedear sister of the late Elizabeth “Betty” Steritti, Patricia Frye and her latehusband, Warren and Cosmo “Billy” Oliver. She is also lovingly survived by ninegrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Eleanor Oliver ofMelrose and her brother-in-law, Retired Revere Deputy Fire Chief, Vincent“James” Steritti of Nahant. She is also survived by her former son-in-law,Frank Carolan of Palmetto, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Theresa Bredice.Margaret will be dearly missed by her husband of 46 years Gary Fiore and her daughter Lauren and her husband Brian Volpe of Naugatuck. Margaret is also survived by her brother Michael Bredice of Norwalk.Margaret was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend…and a great cook. She made flags for several of the area Marching Band Color Guards. Margaret loved to do research on the Internet, feed her squirrel and chipmunk friends, and maintain her butterfly bushes hoping that more butterflies would return each summer.Visiting hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th at Collins Funeral Home (92 East Avenue, Norwalk). Fiore, age 85, beloved husband of the late Mary Cicchetti Fiore and longtime resident of Stern Village in Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Lord Chamberlain in Stratford. Born on April 16, 1933 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Richard and Grace Fiore. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the United States Post Office as a postal worker. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him. Joseph is survived by his three loving children, Richard Fiore and his wife Christine of Shelton, Paula Connolly and her husband Chris of Danbury, and Joi Fodera and her husband William of Queens, NY, and his five cherished grandchildren, Richard Fiore, Jr., Stephen Fiore, Carissa Fodera, William Fodera, Jr. and Skylar Brooke Connolly. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Lord Chamberlain nursing home in Stratford for their care and support over the years for Joseph. A Memorial Mass celebrating Joseph's life will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, CT. There will be no calling hours and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
